NYC-based producer and DJ Lauren Ritter returns to her roots and her Rift Vision label with ‘Antigone // Sarus’, a new EP featuring two emotive, nostalgic, and melodic original compositions, ‘Antigone’ and ‘Sarus’, and two complemented remixes from her friends Powel and Zone+.
‘Antigone // Sarus’ EP will surely please fans of Lauren Ritter’s All Day Dream 2015 debut ‘Lark’ EP and her recent Rift Vision output alike. ‘Antigone’ is an ever-evolving, bubbling, and driving number that showcases her classical music training and sensibilities, while ‘Sarus’ is an airy, serene, glittering, and uplifting complimentary composition.
Lauren Ritter unveiled her imprint Rift Vision in 2020 during lockdown and has since released three emotive EPs encompassing her own solo compositions, collaborative works with Oakland-based poet Tenesha The Wordsmith (On The Corner), and remixes by lauded talent such as Octo Octa, Lawrence, Jenifa Mayanja, and Rrao. Stay-at-home DJ no more, Ritter has been back DJing in full force, with appearances incl the Zamna festival NYC, Do Not Sit Miami, Shameless Seattle, Public Records NYC. 2024 kicked off with a long-awaited return to Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream label, with Ritter being featured in their winter compilation. This year will include more releases from Lauren, including another EP entitled Blue Nine on Rift Vision in November.
Lauren invites her friends Powel and Zone+ to provide their takes on both tracks, who each weave in dynamic grooves and vocal elements in their signature styles to underscore Ritter’s melodic motifs.
We are presenting the remix of ‘Antigone’ from Zone+, who has published his original music under many labels including All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Kindisch, Satya, Mixcult and Sol Selectas.
