Following the success of their ‘Kuimba’ single, Swedish live duo Afronova unleash their next release, ‘Si Quieres’, on their exciting Afronova label.
Charged with infectious Afro-Latin vibes, ‘Si Quieres’ (meaning, “if you want”), is aimed squarely at the dance floor. At its core is a catchy horn hook teased with soul-stirring Spanish vocals, all underpinned by their irresistible signature percussive Afrobeats that groove beneath a deep pulsating bassline and layers of atmospheric electronica.
Swedish production and live duo Afronova, aka Jules Le Boudon and Cristian Saavedra, have been busy carving a name for themselves on the Afro House scene since they unleashed their collaborative debut, ‘EP1’ in 2021. Prior to that, both Jules and Cristian had solo production and DJ careers for several decades, now bringing their well-honed musical skills to the forefront with Afronova and their Afronova Records label. Since 2021 they have been causing a stir on dance floors, with their rich fusion of contemporary Afro, Latin and Deep House music on releases such as ‘Trichteza’, ‘Aché Pa Ti’, ‘Oye Mi Rumba’, ‘Mirage’ and most recently, ‘Kuimba’. Afronova have worked with the likes of Rasha, Mr. Z, and Sara B and Cuban duo DJ Reitt & Shanara, among others. Their releases have received the thumbs up from the likes of David Morales, DJeff, Daz-I-Kue, Alexander Barck (Jazzanova), Peter Kruder, Paco Osuna and more. 2024 looks set to be an exciting year ahead for the duo with plenty of hot releases scheduled for the label along with some exciting live shows already in the diary.
