Tokyo techno star Risa Taniguchi delivers her third release for Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains label with the bustling ‘Insomnia’ EP.
The classically trained and skilled musician has always drawn inspiration from the underground scene of her home city, and playing clubs such as Vent, Contact and Womb. Releases for labels like CLR, Second State, Octopus Recordings, Cin Cin and Odd Recordings have helped her build up an international reputation.
A trio of pumping and rolling techno jams are offered up on the ‘Insomnia’ EP, each one peppered with animated riffs, frenzied percussion and raw energy.
