The ...]]> Baikal Nomads is an influential organic house record label, and the imprint’s new release is the eighth edition of their annual compilation, ‘Badarchin’.

‘Badarchin, Vol. 8’ features 18 tracks including three collaborations, and artists from 9 different countries. This globally sourced release embraces cultural diversity, and features music with deep atmosphere, organic percussion and spellbinding melodies.

The artists who feature on this release include Alacrán del Amor, JAVALI (MX), Andrew Shartner, Böle, Borowsky, Catatonique, Cereus, Dj Shaman, Dragon House, Jocan Deka, Samuel Wexler, K2W0, Kerem Genc, Lello Fusco, m.age.project, Makossa (IT), Niño Amarillo, Savanna, Sainz (VE), Tlazohtla and Yodh.

Many of the artists on this release have previously been featured on Baikal Nomads, but there are also record label debuts by Dragon House, Makossa (IT), Borowsky, Böle, Savanna & Sainz, Jocan Deca & Samuel Wexler, Yodh, Alacran del Amor & Javali.

Each track on this stunning compilation is a new and exciting piece of music, and many of the artists behind the tracks have individually featured on other respected record labels such as • kosa •, Cosmic Awakenings, MONADA, Cafe De Anatolia, Magician On Duty, trndmsk and Harabe.

There are so many amazing tracks on the release that there is something for everyone, as although organic house is at the core of this compilation, ‘Badarchin, Vol. 8’ also features other associated genres ranging from melodic house/techno to Afro house and downtempo.

Erhan Yilmaz is a Turkish artist whose music takes influence from the coastal beauty found on the shores of the black sea. His music taste takes influence from genres ranging from folk to disco, and he mixes his love for live instrumentation with electronic beats to create organic house tracks. This is his second time working with Baikal Nomads and his music can also be found on other labels such as trndmsk, Cosmic Awakenings and Kosa.

‘Freeze’ EP consists of two original tracks, ‘Freeze’ and ‘W Street’, and four remixes from Lello Fusco, Zuma Dionys, Kolomin and Wakhan.

We are presenting the title track ‘Freeze’ with trippy acid synths layered with sweeping pads, plus flowing percussion to create a mesmerising groove.

Matt Jah is a well-travelled Italian songwriter, composer and electronic music producer who takes inspiration from different cultures. Blending live instruments and electronic sounds, his tracks often infuse enchanting melodies from far-off lands with indigenous tribal rhythms.

This is Matt Jah’s second time releasing on Baikal Nomads after he recently featured a track on the label’s Badarchin, Vol. 6 compilation. His track ‘Canto a La Lluvia’ was one of the standouts from the release and now he is back with four new originals.

‘Ritmo De La Selva’ EP consists of four original tracks, ‘Espiral’, ‘Indigena’, ‘Ohm Nay’ and ‘Orizonte’, and a remix of ‘Ohm Nay’ from the South African artist Sadhu Sensi.

Talking about his release, Matt Jah said: “‘Ritmo De La Selva’ is a deep search for sounds and rhythms inspired by travels around the world. Rich in African percussion and Andean instruments. The concept of this EP is to take the listener on a journey through forests, mountains, lakes and uncontaminated spaces. Nature is the guide within each song. Particularly in ‘Ohm Nay’ where I sing, the chant is in channelled language, also called ‘light language’. It is a form of free singing that begins with meditation and ends with free expression.”

We are presenting the fourth track ‘Orizonte’, which blends different flute samples with the uplifting energy of fast-flowing percussion rhythms and a modulating synth line that ripples with acid tones. It’s got a mystifying atmosphere that puts the listener into a trance with its spell-binding groove.
