M.R.E.U.X. is an Italian artist who is a long standing part of the European underground. He mixes up a real knowledge of the old-school sound with heavy grooves and deft sound designs both in the studio and the booth. His label is a reliable outlet for big-room techno that makes an indelible mark on the largest dance floors and that is the case here again.

The excellent ‘Ardity’ kicks off with intense layers of textured synth and industrial rust. The pummelling drum loops and thunderous claps, tense bass notes and loopy pads all wrap around each other to hypnotic effect to make for a real dance floor classic. The brilliant ‘Shock Wave’ has more broken beats but rumbling bass that locks you in. It’s another track packed with grit and grime that will suit warehouse deployment, with its grand sweeping synths bringing the real drama.

Alan Fitzpatrick is a globe-trotting techno titan with his own We Are The Brave label and close ties to the mighty Drumcode. He knows how to craft supersized sounds driven by all-powerful rhythms that take him to the world’s most famous stages. His remix of ‘Ardity’ is a significant one designed for late-night trips with its wonky synths rising up and down the scale as highly pressurised drum loops and fluttering snares race onwards into the night.

This is a high-class EP of intriguing and atmospheric techno.

He last appeared here many times, including on an EP with the legend that is Terrence Dixon and is known for his inventive and reliably big sounds with real reverence for the authentic early originators. Japanese DJ Ken Ishii has long been a vital part of the global underground. His Detroit-inspired techno is slick and futuristic and comes on the most influential labels around.

‘Secret World’ EP consists of three tracks, ‘Magic Button’ and ‘Fokus’ from M.R.E.U.X, ‘Metal Spikes’ from Ken Ishii.

We are presenting ‘Magic Button’, a percussive and psychedelic workout. It’s built from well-constructed loops of drums, synth and percussion. It’s dark and menacing and draws you deep into an eerie cosmic world.

His label is ...]]> Electronic innovator M.R.E.U.X cooks up more of his powerful sounds on a bold new EP, ‘Night Vision’, that comes with a huge remix from techno royalty Mark Broom.

M.R.E.U.X. is the Blumoog label boss with a pounding and original take on techno that has made him a scene regular in his native Italy. His label is known for its inventive machine sounds, and after his ‘Gravity’ EP late last year featuring a Joel Mull remix and his superb ‘Modular Immersion’ EP backed with a remix from Ben Sims, he is now back in fierce form once more.

Different influences can be noticed on this fine three tracker. Across the two originals on ‘Night Vision’ EP, M.R.E.U.X fuses techno, dub and house and dresses them with a heavy bassline and quirky electronic motifs.

We are presenting an excellent opener ‘Odyssey’, nearly five minutes of pure bliss with a dub-tech feel and granular inserts that makes it even more captivating.
