Subradeon’s ‘Keep Fighting’ EP kicks things off with the fantastic ‘Improvement’, a Detroit-inspired techno cut with hi-tek synths and spoken word vocals that muse on self-betterment. The drums are deep and spare, with wet claps and jazzy lines bringing the track to life. ‘Keep Fighting’ is the first in a series of three EPs, each representing three phases of epochal change. This introductory release uses human voices and organic sounds that represent our present, with the title track picking up the pace via thumping, pulsing drums, cosmic synths and chattery percussion.

Next up, ‘Brothers and Sisters’ is another Motor City-influenced track with wispy synths and heavy drum funk made all the more dramatic by the vocal fragments scattered throughout the mix. Closing the release, the urgent, straight-up ‘We Are Still Struggling’ is a hands-in-the-air, synth-laced and sophisticated techno hit that will take any dance floor to the next dimension.

Giuseppe Salone and Salvatore Iannotta form Subradeon, they make driving techno marked by real soul, incorporating elements of house, live sampling and acapella into their tracks on the likes of Rekids, Motech and Hardgroove, while winning the support of artists like DJ Bone, Dave Clarke, and Jennifer Cardini.

Comprising Giuseppe Salone and Salvatore Iannotta, Subradeon have been releasing quality techno on their eponymous imprint, Ben Sims’ Hardgroove, Deetron’s Character and many more since their 2017 debut on Motech. Now returning with a heavy five-tracker on Rekids Special Projects, the duo deliver a release that takes influence from the genre’s history in the Motor City while simultaneously looking forward.

Leading the release, ‘The Spirit’ opens with scintillating synths, punchy drum machines, and a recurring vocal refrain before the dense pads and rumbling percussion of ‘Your Mission’ culminate in a breakdown peppered with spoken word. ‘Moonshine’ sees rocking drums and fluttering instrumentation collide before ‘Break That Pattern’ reaches for trippy stereo FX and sharp sound design. ‘Human Resistance’ closes the release with a flurry of synthesised strings and spoken word clashing over pumping kicks and claps.

Producers and DJ’s first and foremost, Subradeon find soul at the heart of their work, be it via their productions on labels like Rekids, Motech and Hardgroove – or in their consistently engaging DJ sets, where the duo’s strong bond and years of collaboration make for an enigmatic mix of layered techno, house, acapellas and samples. In 2018 the duo launched their self-titled imprint as a home for their own productions with the first two releases picking up an array of support from names such as Ben Sims, DJ Bone, Truncate, Spencer Parker and many more.

Moving into 2020, Subradeon spent the early part of the year in the studio, mustering up their ‘We Are Resilient’ EP which addresses the theme of resilience and pays homage to the story of the Native Americans fighting for their rights and in support of them, the duo have decided to donate part of the profits to a Native American Charity, Stand With Standing Rock.

We are presenting the third track, ‘Wisdom’, with the inspiring atmospheres as the sweeping lead synths bounce delicately off the fluid percussion and spiraling modulations in this energetic number.
