LISA’S KICKBACK calls on California Bay Area native DJ and producer Papa Lu for the label’s 24th edition.

Papa Lu infuses his trance inducing acid strut percussion and electro tech stabs with a strung out hypnotic pleading vocal to create ‘Got To Have You’.

B-side continues the acid trip as Papa Lu evokes a Brazilian funk driven vocal layered into a bass heavy percussion bounce. ‘Bora Chega Faz Correr’ wraps up ‘Got To Have You’ EP that continues the run of constructive sound exploration and re-education of house genres on the American label LISA’S KICKBACK.

Papa Lu will be performing at the Burning Man Camp Fundraiser Kazbah in Los Angeles on June 13.

Walker & Royce are geeked to welcome the emerging SoCal talent Papa Lu to the Rules Don’t Apply family with his momentous dance floor ripper ‘BASS!’.

Papa Lu is no stranger to the gang having played their 2024 Holiday party in LA, as well as receiving loads of ‘BASS!’ support from Walker & Royce over the past year.

Lu takes us off the deep end with a spine-rattling groove, understated percussion, and delayed flourishes that all align and ask you the question: “Do you like muthafu*’in BASS in yo muthafuckin face..?” We do!

Soul Clap Records presents ‘Red Hot’, a house EP by American DJ and producer Papa Lu.

Bay Area born and raised DJ and producer Papa Lu is family to Soul Clap, and he recently made his move to Los Angeles where he is making his mark on the house music scene. Lu has steadily been building his collection of acid tinged, funky house burners, while also exploring Latin house. For his debut on Soul Clap Records, he teams up with vocalist Astu on the thumping ‘Red Hot’ a fast paced house track with interlocking funk elements built to rock the dancefloor.

DJ, producer and the multi-hyphenate The Whooligan joins Papa Lu on the flip, titled ‘Starting To Rise’, which continues the disco house vibe. Once the beat drops, a strong Latin rhythm takes over with layers of syncopated percussion, adding a strong Cumbia house flavor to the diverse mix.

The 176th Klubikon Podcast is mixed by the American DJ and producer Papa Lu.

Papa Lu’s solo career gained momentum with his 2019 release ‘Dança’ on Savia Park, featuring a deep acid groove. This was followed by ‘King’ in 2020 on Desert Hearts Records and a 2021 track with Music is 4 Lovers. Emerging from the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area, Papa Lu’s musical journey began in the local Hip Hop scene, evolving through organizing events and producing house music, including the notable Night Moves party at Monarch SF.

Having already released several singles and EPs in 2024, Papa Lu’s prolific production streak continues with the release of his latest house cut ‘Body Rock’ available HERE.
