Dance System announces the latest release from System Records – the ‘Displacement’ EP from Italian producer His Majesty Andre.
Between around 2008 and 2012, His Majesty Andre was a stalwart in the house scene, with releases on Southern Fried, Cheaper Thrills (who remembers Peep Thong?!), Moda and Fool’s Gold, he worked with Anna Lunoe, Armand Van Helden and more. His 2012 minimix for Annie Mac was legendary, most notably as it broke the record for containing the most samples, with over 150 tracks in five minutes.
Disappearing from view for eight years, His Majesty Andre returned in full force last year; co-writing ‘All The Ladies’ with Fatboy Slim, which went onto become the club smash collab with Eats Everything, and remixing Roy Davis Jr’s What If. Now, System Records is very excited to announce His Majesty Andre’s first extended project since his return; the four-track ‘Displacement’ EP.
Andre explains; “This EP means a lot to me. It’s a journey across several years of studies and experiments. I wanted to give a fresh touch to my music, creating a bridge between the signature sound of my early years, and what I like most now. The result of this search, is this 4 track EP that reflects my contemporary taste in electronic music. The idea at the base is to represent the double state of a person, in the physical and the mental world. You can take actions in one place and have results in the other. Sometimes, though, you don’t take any action in any of them, but are still able to look and process the surroundings.”
Label boss Dance System adds “When Andre sent through these demos I was blown away. They are everything I look for in club tracks; simple, raw and funky. Andre uses sampling in a super creative way; fragments that carry a history and give the tracks a soul, even though the production is so beautifully mechanical and robotic.”
We are presenting the second track ‘Burnout’.
‘Displacement’ EP will be available after the 6th of May HERE.
