Italy’s DJ Pasta readies the funk-laden ‘Batadoris Too’ EP on Brooklyn’s toucan sounds.
DJ Pasta, real name Davide Piva, was previously involved with Amari and Fare Soldi, the latter of which had remixes and originals on labels such as Kitsune, Southern Fried, and Ministry Of Sound. Turning his sights now to toucan sounds, an imprint that has championed musclecars, Haruka Salt, and Brandon Markell Holmes, DJ Pasta finds a welcoming home for his disco excursions in the Brooklyn-based label.
We are presenting the opener ‘Piffero’ which sees post-disco and Central American influences fuse together alongside dusty live percussion and a hypnotic flute riff for a lively and energetic start to the six-track EP.
