The first release on Portuguese label Kokölò, ‘The Birth’ EP, comes from no-face-entity Rave Child, the label’s creator.
“Kokölò has a host of different meanings, but for us, it means ‘to move forward’! And this interpretation encompasses the ethos of the label that has just been brought to life in early 2022. Its purpose is not to focus on a single genre of electronic music but to convey a specific mood or a state of freedom.
Through ‘The Birth’ EP, Rave Child is born. It is the beginning of a project in which the artist shows his perception of rave music – with all its naivety and euphoria – whilst trying to capture that feeling of a soul discovering the dancefloor for the first time.
The first two tracks of the EP were mastered by VRIL in his studio, and the latter by Andreas Lubich, aka Loop-o, at his mastering studio; however, all of them are connected by a substantial use of breaks, chopped voices and dreamy melodies. One can also hear that each single uniquely displays the nostalgia we all feel towards the innocence of our childhood years. Moments of play, immersion and presence are filled with an inherent wish of utopian infinity.

Future releases on Kokölò will see further material from Rave Child alongside other like-minded artists he has connected with, including releases and remixes from Alfonsvs, Adriana Ruas, Vril and Answer Code Request.
‘The Birth’ EP consists of three tracks, ‘It Never Was’, ‘Childhood Memories’ and ‘Nostalgia For What Was Never Lived’. We are presenting ‘Childhood Memories’.
