Rome’s favourite contemporary jazz maestro, Stefano De Santis, reveals his ‘New Beginning’ EP on the highly lauded Italian label, Quattro Bambole Music.
Unleashing four incredible new tracks ‘New Beginning’ EP, performed with the highest level of musicianship, Stefano De Santis delivers his most impressive body of work to date as he seamlessly journeys across a colourful spectrum of jazz fused broken beat, boogie, deep house and lo-fi hip hop. From the jazz-fuelled mellow soundscape of ‘Roy’ and the lush fusion of slo-mo house, broken beats and an effervescent bass on ‘Lie#3’, to the stunning down tempo piano led ‘Paths’ and the 80’s boogie broken beat vibe of ‘Tokyo 80′, each composition is adorned with Stefano’s mesmerising key performances. Also on the package, UK producer talent Sean McCabe, who also mastered the EP, joins forces with Boogie Café, delivering a sublime deep house dub of ‘Lie#3’, ripe for the head nodders and dancers alike.

Based between Rome and London, Stefano De Santis is conservatory trained and raised on the music of Weather Report and Azymuth, with his recent musical output being fully supported by UK music legend, Colin Curtis. Stefano has been a go-to session player in many projects across multiple genres – from jazz to funk, reggae, and pop. And in 2017, he launched the ‘Big Beat’ trio who blended pure jazz with new synth sounds and syncopated drum patterns. Later, in 2020, Stefano teamed up with his friend and consummate drummer, Gaetano De Carli to form Re:Fill, balancing the old world and the contemporary. Their first record, ‘Cycles’, was released in June 2022 on Cognitiva Records and features a collaboration with heavy-hitters from the UK’s DJ-producer scene, Ben Hauke and WheelUp. As a solo artist, Stefano has been turning heads with his innovative fusions of jazz, funk, broken beat with releases such as the bossa infused ‘Barra Nova’ on Mother Tongue Records and his ‘Unreachable Galaxy’ EP on Ramrock Red, the spiritual jazz EP, ‘A Kind of Prayer’, and the jazzfunk 7inch, ‘Santos ’79’, both through Colin Curtis.
