Mike Parton and Danny Parton return to their own Jolene Records with four essential house tracks on a fantastic third EP.
Danny Parton and Mike Parton live and breathe house music and concoct their own take on it with influences from 90s grooves, French touch, disco and funk. They bring a classy modern touch to electric sounds that are designed for maximum impact in the club, and over the years, they have come on a string of respected labels. They have a real love of sampling at the heart of what they do and say that music is a celebration, which is why they founded Jolene Records earlier in the year to share their passion for sound and rhythm.
Mike kicks off with ‘What A Mess’, which is a brightly coloured mix of swirling pads and snappy kick drums. Rapped vocals bring great edge, and the whole track has a wonderfully loose energy. The fantastic ‘Go Out!” then layers up silky and pitched-up R&B vocals with more slinky drums and plenty of lively, feel-good synths. It’s a vibrant track that cannot fail to get the floor going.
Danny keeps the vibe flowing with his wonderful ‘Head In The Sky’, a loose-limbed disco, house and funk fused affair with a catchy groove. Rich trumpets and classic vocal samples bring the soul to this ageless gem. Last of all is ‘In The Groove’, which has smart filtered melodies, percussive drums, and more great vocal samples that bring authentic soul to the modern beats.
We are presenting Danny Parton’s ‘Head In The Sky’.
‘Jolene 03’ EP will be available after the 10th of January HERE.
