French DJ and producer Electric Rescue drops the first missive for Ben Sims’ imprint Hardgroove, ‘Control Your Mind’ EP.
Having released on labels like NECHTO, Iternum, COD3 QR and his own Skrymptöm Records in a career that spans over two decades, France’s Electric Rescue (real name Antoine Russon) has a support list that includes the best in the world and as a former resident of the legendary Rex Club is a lynchpin of Paris’ vibrant techno scene.
Electric Rescue’s debut release on Ben Sims’ Hardgroove label, ‘Control Your Mind’ EP, delivers four tracks that display two distinct takes on modern techno.
‘Control Your Mind’ EP opens with ‘Uojibijou’, a crackling, dry-drummed cut that counterbalances the earthy rhythm track with an intense ebb and flow of dubbed-out stabs, used to rousing effect while the title track centres itself around another rising/falling reverb-heavy hit, but notches up the percussive intensity to match a precision engineered peak time arrangement.
The second half of Electric Rescue’s ‘Control Your Mind’ EP mirrors the first, with the clean, pin-prick percussion of ‘Sakhare’ contrasting the thundering thump of closer ‘Scross’. While ‘Sakhare’s earworm dot-matrix riff provides a dance floor bothering holding pattern, ‘Scross’ goes for the jugular with manic staccato keys and animating Vox EFX.
We are presenting the fourth track, ‘Scross’.
‘Control Your Mind’ EP will be available after April 25th HERE.
