Celebrating his 30th year as a DJ this year, Italy’s Luca Guerrieri reveals a brand new single taken from his forthcoming anniversary album, ‘Digital Funk’. Teaming up with the hugely talented and popular singer and songwriter Rona Rae, the duo deliver a fresh floor-filling disco romp, ‘Ain’t Nobody’.
Tuscany’s Luca Guerrieri has been a DJ and producer since 1995, he also runs the Double Vision Studios label and co-owns Claps Records. Over the years Luca has produced a plethora of dance hits, including ‘Only You’, which was picked up by Fatboy Slim and reworked into his recent club smash ‘Role Model’ featuring Dan Diamond on vocals. Luca’s releases such as ‘Harmony’ won support from Pete Tong and Danny Howard (No.1 BBCR1 Dance Chart). Luca’s reinterpretation of the Tuscan folk song ‘Maremma Amara’ featured on the ‘Buddha Bar XXV’ compilation; whilst ‘Tears’ and ‘Flow’ were played on the main stage at Tomorrowland. Aside of many solo productions, Luca has collaborated on releases with Mr V, Federico Scavo, Tommy Vee and Meri, among others, and has remixed the likes of Bob Sinclar, Marshal Jefferson, Cappella, Azoto, Watermat, and Dirty Vegas. As a DJ, Luca Guerrieri regularly performs in many of the top clubs and festivals in Italy, as well as gracing the decks at Privilege (Ibiza), Sankeys (Ibiza), Cielo (Dubai) and Carrusel Club (Sofia).
Rona Ray is a versatile multi-genre singer and songwriter, performing worldwide and has collaborated with Ezel, Prunk, Atjazz, DJ Spen, Terry Hunter and more, gaining support from Louie Vega and Black Coffee. Always passionate about R&B, soul and jazz music, Rona has been a part of Kaliningrad Jazz band since the age of 15, later writing and performing with a future Soul band Locus in Berlin, among other projects. Recently she released an album with Ezel called ‘Take Me Home’, simultaneously releasing collaborations with Peacey and Abel winning BBCR1, BBCR2 and BBC 6Music radio support. Rona’s songs have been released on labels like Defected, Atjazz Record Company, Universal, Nervous Records. As a live act she has both party and lounge vibes in her repertoire, always impressing the audience with her soulful voice and elegant presence.
Luca Guerrieri’s ‘Ain’t Nobody’ comes with an uncomplicated discofied soundtrack, letting the infectious funky bass groove and percussive drums shine as Rona delivers a brilliantly penned punchy vocal oozing with soul and vivacity. On the Club Mix, Luca offers a stripped back high-octane tribal groove garnished with Rona’s sensual vocal stabs and an atmospheric breakdown, as he ramps up the energy for the peak time floors.
