Pheelo brings stripped-down tech precision to Lee Foss’ imprint South of Saturn with the two-track ‘Work My Body’ EP.
Italian DJ and producer Pheelo cooks up dark but seductive fusions of house, tech and minimal, always with a hypnotic energy. Fresh off recent appearances on Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi Records, Wade’s Criterio Music, and Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars, he continues his stellar run of form with a new double header on the latter’s sister imprint, South of Saturn.
First up is the punchy, minimalist tech house throb of ‘Work My Body’. Dry, textured hits skate over the supple rhythms, and slinky R&B vocals infuse the groove with irresistible human allure. The equally infectious ‘Can’t You See’ drives on tight kick patterns with warped bass. Glitchy vocals echo a New York hip-hop classic, primed for big reactions in the club as the slick percussion and twanging pads keep things tense and taut.
