PREMIERE: Sebastien Bouchet – Buster

French artist Sebastien Bouchet lands on My Favorite Robot Records with three avant-garde techno tracks on ‘Soulside’ EP.

Bouchet has a cultured sound that has taken him to key labels like Kompakt, OMNIDSIC and Hypercolour. He uses synths and drum machines for his always textured sounds and often includes his own treated vocals. He has lived in Berlin and Brussels and played all over the world and here delves deep into artful sound design and meditative experimental techno.

The unsettling ‘Soulside’ opens with pinging kicks, off-grid claps and whirring machine sounds. It’s an unhinged groove with sci-fi motifs drifting in and increasing bass pressure locking you into the trip. ‘Ironstone’ is a fantastic fusion of synth minimalism, mechanical drum grooves and the cavernous sense of space you get in industrial buildings. Alien life forms scurry across the groove as the pressure builds in this most stylish and evocative of techno rollers. Closer ‘Buster’ has scratchy synth textures panning about over vast rubber kicks. It’s an unsettling atmosphere that is eventually lit up by ice-cold pads and shimmering snares. It speaks of a desolate urban landscape way off in the future.

Sebastien Bouchet’s ‘Soulside’ EP is perfectly stripped back but cinematic techno from another world.

We are presenting the third track ‘Buster’.

‘Soulside’ EP will be available after the 7th of May HERE.
