Shifting Gears aka Hoshina Anniversary returns to toucan sounds with ‘Sky Disco’.
Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Hoshina Anniversary has previously appeared on ESP Institute, Musar Recordings, and Young Marco’s Safe Trip, fusing traditional Japanese instrumentation with House and Techno sensibilities across his productions. Returning to Brooklyn’s toucan sounds label under his Shifting Gears moniker following ‘Drum Nation’ in January, the DJ and producer delivers three addictive, crunchy house jams.
Leading the release, the title cut ‘Sky Disco’ sees pumping drums and unruly melodies interplaying with stark piano hits throughout. ‘Blue, Yellow, Red’ follows with freaked-out FX, rattling percussion, and eerie FX combining for a wonky club track, before ‘Mayfield’s Diner’ closes the release with a dose of euphoric house, as rubbery basslines, floating pads, and synth stabs ring out for the duration.
We are presenting ‘Mayfield’s Diner’.
‘Sky Disco’ EP will be available after the 7th of October HERE.
