LA-based artist Reza makes a fiery debut on Lee Foss’ imprint North Of Neptune with ‘Bae & Sade’.
Reza debuts on Lee Foss’ North Of Neptune label with ‘Bae & Sade’ as he pushes his studio craft even further with a loved-up ode to Sade. Known for his intricate low-end grooves frequently heard in the sets of Marco Carola and Paco Osuna, LA-based selector Reza has been making a global impact with releases on Nervous, Insomniac, and South Of Saturn and shows no signs of slowing down with an upcoming performance lined up at EDC Las Vegas and hugely anticipated debut EP on Skream’s legendary imprint.
“When making ‘Bae & Sade’, I had an overwhelming feeling of wanting to make something outside of club dance music. I found myself surrounded by tracks being fed to me that were 60-second TikTok-style snippets or 7-minute groove instrumentals for partying and getting the crowd robotically going into the morning hours. While I love a 7-minute Shonky groover, I really wanted to make a complete song, a ballad if you will. Whatever that meant. A song you could play just about anywhere, with your significant other or without, but something that made you want to feel love or want something like it. Sade is one of my favorite musical artists of all time, and when I picture myself with someone down the line, listening to a Sade vinyl will be a common ritual, as the lyrics of this song portray. I made this for you babe, whoever or wherever you are.” – Reza.
