Shefield’s Idium have been instrumental in the UK House Music and Bassline scene. Their new release ‘Justify’ sees them explore a brand-new disco house vibe on a fresh collaboration with up-and-coming vocal talent Samantha Seth for Bohemian Disco.
Idium, aka Nick & JC, have been producing House Music for over 20 years. Nick was a former resident at Sheffield’s notorious Rise nightclub, while JC held a residency during the iconic Gatecrasher era. The pair met through the Northern House scene and have remained close friends, both producing across multiple genres and aliases before finally joining forces in the studio. Their first collaboration, the disco-inspired bootleg ‘Your Affection’, quickly gained support from some of the biggest touring DJs on the circuit, leading to a wave of original productions now set for release throughout 2026. Their debut original single ‘Justify’, featuring Samantha Seth, defines the IDIUM sound – Sisco-inspired house music with soulful energy, musical depth and modern production. Inspired by artists, labels and movements connected to the golden eras of house music including Defected, Subliminal, Mousse T., Dennis Ferrer, Groove P and Shapeshifters, IDIUM blend classic influences with a modern underground edge. Their 4-deck DJ sets pulse with disco and classic house energy, layered with exclusive edits, acapellas and remixes that create a sound and atmosphere unique to every performance. 2026 sees a string of releases on their own imprint, IDIUM Recordings, while ‘Justify’ lands on Bohemian Disco.
Born out of a Subtone writing camp, this uplifting floor-filler ‘Justify’ features filtered and hypnotic strings alongside Disco brass, guitars, underpinned by an irresistible funky bassline and topped with a heartfelt from Samantha Seth. Created with a focus on originality rather than chasing trends, the track was intentionally designed to capture the feeling of sampling disco culture without relying on obvious overused hooks or full-song recreations. Also on the package, Bohemian Disco label boss Jason Herd takes the energy to the next level delivering a peak time dub, led by a funky driving bassline, rising synths, powerful build-ups and a sampled lead synth, beautifully tailored for those more uplifting sets.
We are presenting the Jason Head Remix.
‘Justify’ EP will be available after June 5th HERE.
