The Istanbul-based artist Onur Diner blends traditional sounds with the inovative technology of contemporary electronics, both in his production and his DJ sets. Last summer he released the peculiarly named “Owlephant” EP on Submarine Vibes, a label from Sarajevo: there you can find deep and progressive motifs intervowen with seductive sequences played on archaic instruments, invoking the esoteric ambience of the open landscapes in the Orient.
This podcast is even more informed by the sounds of the mythical East, often seasoned with lyrical vocals which are gently plucking the strings of the soul. It’s also abundant with heavy incensed grooves, providing intense sensual pleasures. A psychedelic downtempo oddysey taking you deep into the desert – if you let yourself go.
