Swedish imprint Seaweed Rhythm delivers their second release featuring five intricate house tracks from Kalkyl and label boss zlene which includes remixes from Traumer, Giuliano Lomonte and dot13.
zlene is a new project of producer Bäcksvart whilst Kalkyl is the new minimal alias of dPop. Kalkyl & zlene together run the Stockholm musical hotspot and renowned night club NEU, situated in the basement of Berns Hotel, Sweden’s oldest entertainment establishment. Due to the club’s temporary closure because of the pandemic, the pair have spent plenty of time together in their studio in old town experimenting with Kalkyl’s machines or zlene’s vast field recordings and oceanic samples which is a constant feature in his work. ‘Ajrishwishkey’ EP sees them invite remixes from the unstoppable Frenchman and Gettraum founder Traumer, Italian artist and Ultrasketch and Pressure Traxx affiliate Giuliano Lomonte.
We are presenting the title track ‘Ajrishwishkey’ which reveals a reverberating bassline, oscillating grooves, sparkling tones and rubbery fx which draws you in effortlessly.
Seaweed Rhythm wants to give back to the animals and waters sampled in their work and have seen first-hand how much of the ocean’s wildlife has been affected by climate change. Therefore 50% of all digital sales will be donated to various water wildlife foundations and projects.
