Following on from his debut label release on Machine Woman’s Take Away Jazz Records, Manchester based DJ and producer ROMsets returns with ‘X Meta’ EP, this time on his own [non]Optimal label.
‘X Meta’ EP consists of two original tracks, ‘X Meta’ and ‘Tekbox’, and it sounds like the soundtrack to Actress and Kassem Mosse unplugging from a 90’s prototype Metaverse headset.
“I was messing around with a loop that sounded like it was coming out of a speaker with a broken wire. I loved this and wanted to expand on this aesthetic to create a soundscape that could belong in a weird, broken virtual world (thus the track title ‘X Meta’)” – ROMsets describes the early process of creating ‘X Meta’ EP
We are presenting the title track ‘X Meta’, a dusty and blurred take on electronica with suggestions of techno and minimal.
