PREMIERE: Luke Andy, Life On Planets – Light Up My Fire (Ardalan Remix)

Rules Don’t Apply alumni Luke Andy & Life On Planets combine their skills on strident new track ‘Light Up My Fire’, with legendary West Coast producer Ardalan contributing his own remix.

Washington-born and LA-based Luke Andy and Baltimore’s Life On Planets have a proven knack for heating things up with effortless groove and sophistication. They bring jazzy key samples and find a perfect sweet spot between depth and drama when producing. Andy has landed on labels like Repopulate Mars, Dirtybird, and Desert Hearts, while Life On Planets brings his romantic, artful and indie-leading sounds to the likes of Heist Recordings and NO ART.

Their brilliant ‘Light Up My Fire’ has mellow yet dramatic chords and whimsical flute samples fluttering up high to bring airiness to the duo’s intoxicating groove. Bright and tightly knit percussion arrangements fuse with a rambunctious, plucked bass guitar while Life On Planets delivers a stylish vocal full of smoky, intimate soul, and the restless groove rumbles on.

Remixer Ardalan was born in Tehran but grew up between his homeland and California. He loves everything from jazz to rap to rock, cinema and video game soundtracks, and all of that has coloured his work on labels like Dirtybird, Play It Down and Toy Tonics. His steamy and blazing remix of ‘Light Up My Fire’ keeps the dance floor alight with brilliantly well-swung drums, chunky kicks and a tender treatment of the original vocal that keeps the emotion in place next to the bright keys.

We are presenting the remix from Ardalan.

‘Light Up My Fire’ EP will be available after the 25th of October HERE.
