Klubikon Podcast 180 – Mud Deep

The 180th Klubikon Podcast is mixed by the French DJ and producer Mud Deep, co-founder of D.KO Records.

Drawing on his passion for Detroit techno and the experimental music of Warp Records, Mud Deep—real name Théo Macari—has developed a distinctive sound that skillfully fuses these varied influences. He rose to prominence as a co-founder of the independent label D.KO Records, alongside Flabaire, Mézigue and GGGG. The label serves as a platform to support and promote emerging artists in the electronic music scene, while also showcasing his own musical creations.

Mud Deep’s productions are characterized by their diversity and depth. From hypnotic rhythms to varied sonic textures, each track is carefully constructed to captivate the listeners and transport them on an immersive musical journey. His most notable works include tracks such as ‘The Knee Of Justice’ and ‘Lamar’, and more recently his remix of the iconic Klaus Nomi. Compositions such as ‘Zorglub’ and ‘Mesonyx’ testify to his ability to explore more experimental sonic territory.

As well as his commitment to electronic music, Mud Deep has a passion for video game music, which is sometimes reflected in his compositions, adding a playful, immersive dimension to his music.
