PREMIERE: Nye – Calling You

Large Hall Records presents the eight-track record ‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’ by Nye.

Nye’s ‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’ finds Large Hall Records in a reflective but club-ready mood, stitching together Machine-Soul, Post-Punk shimmer and basement pressure. Across eight tracks, ‘Tk Drive’, ‘Calling You’, ‘Basic Rock’, ‘This is the Zone’, ‘Time Paint’, ‘Mode 2’, ‘Recurs’, and ‘Leisure Centre’, Nye leans into a palette that nods to the history of Detroit, New Order-style melancholy and the grainy texture of UK Acid House without ever feeling beholden to any of them.

‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’ sets the tone with straight down the barrel drum programming and use of low-key, insistent synth motifs that feels built for patient grooves rather than big breakdowns. As we progress and push further into Electro and Wave territory, marrying rubbery basslines with glassy leads and distant vocal fragments that feel like half-remembered messages from a club you left hours ago.

The record opens out with slower, more hypnotic gear: dusty chords, patient builds and tension held just below the surface. The spectrum of inspirations actually served to bring the numerous Detroit references into sharper focus, looping pads, machine claps and subtle Acid slithers that would sit comfortably between Paranoid London and classic Midwest gear.

‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’ is a quietly confident, no-fuss record: functional enough for heads-down dancefloors, emotive enough to stick in your memory once the system powers down, bittersweet, late-night coda, like the lights coming up on a half-empty room.

We are presenting the second track, ‘Calling You’.

‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’ will be available after January 23rd HERE.
